Clan Iain
Abrach ~ MacIain Charter
Originated July 2, 1999 – Ratified July 5, 2004
This Charter supersedes all previous Charters.
This Charter is a working document for
Clan Iain Abrach ~ MacIain Historical Reenactment Guild (CIAM-HRG).
Volunteers of said Guild will participate with, and in conjunction to, the
Clan Iain Abrach ~ MacIain Non Profit Association (CIAM-NPA).
This
Charter is not beholding to any Sept Clans of CIAM-HRG;
unless
the Sept Clan chooses to ratify this Charter.
I.
CIAM-HRG
Mission Statement: We are
an historical re-enactment group portraying a sixteenth century, Highland Scots
clan. Weapons, costumes, and environmental areas are considered authentic.
II.
Volunteers: A volunteer
of CIAM-HRG is described as any
individual, eighteen or older, who volunteers his/her time to participate in
any guild event. An event is defined as
a Guild Meeting, a Mendit-Makeit-Fixit Party (MIMIFI), Committee Meeting,
Public Appearance, or a Fair/Games/Festival. The volunteer must pay dues to the
CIAM-NPA as established at the first
Guild meeting of the Faire Season.
a.
Guild volunteers portray characters from the Sixteenth
Century in the Highlands of Scotland.
b.
These characters shall all be related to “Clan Iain
Abrach” or “Clan MacDonald” of Glencoe, Scotland.
III.
Season: A
"season" is defined as a calendar year.
IV.
Board
of Directors: All Directors of the CIAM-NPA must be volunteers of the CIAM-HRG. Being a Director is a non-salaried position. The Board of Directors will be comprised of no
less than four persons; President, Vice President, Secretary, and
Treasurer. The named positions are
responsible for the following:
a.
President: Is
responsible for maintaining communication between CIAM-NPA and CIAM-HRG. The President of CIAM-NPA may also be the Guild Master of CIAM-HRG.
b.
Vice President: Is responsible for the President’s duties, if
the President is not able to perform his/her duties. The Vice President is also responsible for all Non-Profit
paperwork and functions of the CIAM-NPA.
c.
Treasurer: Is
responsible for handling all financial matters of the CIAM-NPA and the CIAM-HRG.
d.
Secretary:
The Secretary is responsible for keeping minutes of all CIAM-NPA meetings. The
Secretary will also be responsible for all formal notices written by/ for CIAM-NPA.
V.
Charter Changes: This Charter shall not be
changed without a majority vote of the CIAM-NPA
Board of Directors at any regularly scheduled Board meeting.
