Clan Iain Abrach ~ MacIain Proudly Introduces
Chief Chonaill MacEanraig
| About Me - My History |
I was born in Oban Scotland, the third child of Eanraig MacEanraig and Cairrean MacEanraig. Where, even as a young child, I had an extreme love for good single malt scotch. I grew up with a decent family, no where near nobility or royalty but my parents were landholders. They were wealthy enough for me to get an education. Being the third child there wasn't much of the family business for me to work so I decided to head out and strike my fortune on my own. Family history connects back to a relationship between the MacDonald's and the MacEanraig. When the MacDonald’s became the Lord of the Isles, MacEanraig gifted the lands of Glencoe to the MacDonald’s. So, at the age of 26 I decided to see how the MacDonald’s were treating the lands my great grandfather had gifted them. Upon arrival I found a small but thriving community. Cattle and Fishing seemed to be the primary focus of the clan, but they also had a great sprit. I made my first task to introduce myself to the chief of the clan. A great man named Iain Abrach MacIain. He was the Earl of Ross and claimant to the Lord of the Isle's title. I introduced myself and requested permission to remain with the clan for a while to observe them. He welcomed me to stay as a member of his household. I accepted with great humility.
I spend the next few months getting to know the town’s folks. The War Chief Colm MacIain he was interested in the knowledge that I had in regards to the black powder. So, I endeavor to instruct the war chief and his guards on the uses of the different types of projectile launchers that I was familiar with. During this time I met a lovely lady named Mairi Ciobar.
