| These are the words of MacIain: Joan and I would like to say a heartfelt “thank you” for the lovely
surprise anniversary party at Fair Oaks. We were totally, really surprised!! I thought I was observant, but
you really performed magic behind my back! It was a grand party and many old friends were there. I have
never seen such a large cake outside of a Battleship Launch. Joan says it was a committee effort because of
all the taste combinations. This was the first (and probably the last) bottle of Dom Perignon we shall ever
have. And we have saved the bottle and cork as proof and have them displayed. We look forward to the
efforts of the 3 photographers. Such good planning, even to a designated driver, deserves many praises.
How about praises for the legion of audacious souls who got rid of the cake remains?We hold 2 hearts full
of good wishes, gifts, smiles, and celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary.
Thank you all for such a loving project of planning and effort. We love you all.
