| Good morning everyone, I went to visit Joan yesterday and she was in very good spirits. She found out that she does not have the type of cancer that will cause fractures (and therefore require metal rods in her bones) but she is not certain what the outcome of the type of cancer she does have. She has an appointment today, so she should know more very soon.
We did go over diet restrictions for her and Ken, and I wanted to let you all know as you may be planning on making dinners for them. These restrictions are due to his dialysis treatments, so if you have any questions, please call them directly.
No beans or legumes of any kind…an occasional is fine, but very low quantities.
Only processed potatoes (i.e. boxed mashed potatoes or canned new potatoes.)
Avoid salt
No broccoli
No melon of any kind
No oatmeal or whole grains, White Bread ONLY
Ken loves candy, and can have as MUCH as he wants :-) and the OCCAISIONAL small pie or cake would be great.
Thanks again everyone for your help…I could still use some more folks able to visit during the MWF dialysis treatments…so if you have ANY free time, please let me know.
Take care,
Deanna
