| This is not good-bye. I would rather all of us look upon this as a "Hello!" It was announced at Fair Oaks that I was retiring from my responsibilities for the guild as both an Officer and Board Member. Tim has also turned in his resignations, so we both no longer hold any official responsibilities.
For those of you that are close to us, this probably didn't come as too much of a shock. I have started my own business, which takes much of my time and energy this past year, and that business is growing. I have quit my "corporate America" job, and as of July 31st, will be entirely self employed. My business is that of being a Doula, which is a Professional Labor Partner for women having babies. I LOVE THIS JOB! This will affect the amount of faires we will be able to attend, and will also affect my actual presence at faire as well, due to the fact that am now "on call" all the time. The other, and most important reason, is that Tim and I have committed ourselves to having a family of our own. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which has caused us to be unable to conceive on our own. Tim and I have decided to pursue Invitro Fertilization, which will take alot of energy, and time over the next few months. Tim and I believe we
will be successful in our journey towards parenthood, and ask that you all send us your thoughts and wishes over the next year towards having a happy healthy child of our own.
Tim and I are still members of the guild, still happy to help and have fun. We love this group and want to
continue being a part of this organization as long as you still want us. We simply need to simplify and cut back
so we can focus on some other goals for right now.
So, big hugs as always, and I promise this won't be the last you hear from us!! LOL
